This was a collaboration with knit designer and fellow Royal College of Art student Winnie Yeung. After being asked by Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Royal College of Art to use polymeric optical fibres in new applications, we have used a combination of knitting and weaving to construct a gansey-inspired jumper. Lit by LEDS, the lower half showcases the fibres being pre-treated and woven, while the upper half has been treated by the action of knitting itself. It went on to be displayed at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences.
